While distance is the length of the actual path between two locations, displacement, on the other hand, is the length of the shortest path between two locations.

The differences are:-
1) Distance:-
•It is the total length path cover by the body.
•It have magnitude only.
•It is scalar quantity.
•It can never be 0.
2) Displacement:-
•It is the shortest distance between initial and final position.
•It has magnitude as well as directions
•It is vector quantity.
