Explanation:

Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion. Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

Answer:

hello

iam parmeet

I have cleared 9 class

To clear your concept I want to tell

the main difference

in distance direction doesn't matter ,means if you are going to shop taking turns then the distance will be you actual path

whereas displacement depends on Direction ,like in above example the displacement will be the straight line distance from your home to shop

I have attached photo of example

speed is distance upon time so speed is also not dependent on Direction. therefore they are called scalar quantity

and velocity is displacements upon time so it is dependent on Direction. therefore they are called vector quantity (vectors you will study in 11th)

another thing I want to tell is that speed and distance cannot be negative

whereas displacement and velocity can be negative if a person moves in opposite direction. like you are in delhi and you wanted to go jammu kashmir and you went towards kanyakumari then your displacement is negative but distance is always positive.
