Element: Element is a pure substance that is made entirely from one type of atom.
Compound: compound contains atoms of different elements chemically combained together with a fixed ration by its weight.

an element have only one kind of atom only.like take iron if you break it up into smaller particles you can see the iron particles.a compound have two different types of element mixed together is called a copound.like take water you can see two elements combined together if we break it up into smaller particles we can the particles of water that is h2o.hope you understand. thanks for asking.
