EOC which stands for  Economic Offences Wing purpose is to prevent, detect and investigate cases of economic, cyber and Intellectual Property related crimes to ensure prompt justice and desired relief to the victims and to become the benchmark for other units in investigation of such cases.

This wing is specialized in cases dealing with concerning multi-level-marketing frauds, foreign trade related frauds, land and building rackets, offences of forgery, cheating by individuals and Non-Banking Financial Companies, cyber crimes, offences related to Intellectual Property Rights and such like cases. These are a special wing with excellence in investigation of such cases where a large number of people get dumped by frauds. They handle all the cases with lot of Vigor and Zeal. They also educate public about such kind of offenses and hold campaigns for such criminal activities.

On the contrary, Consumer courts are special courts which addresses consumer complaints and grievances. These are set up to protect consumer rights which are done in the form of judiciary hearings. Its main motive is to maintain the fair practices by the sellers towards consumers. Consumers who file a case against sellers if they are harassed for their products are addressed in these courts. The court only considers those types of cases in which the consumer can place a proof in the form of documents, bills etc.

There are different types of courts at different levels like:

National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC)

State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC)

District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (DCDRF)
