Corpus luteum:

1. It consists of luteum cells, fibrin and blood clot.

2. It contains blood clot.

3. It is formed after the release of secondary oocyte from the Graafian follicle.

4. It secretes progesterone.

follicles:

luteal:

The time between ovulation and before the start of menstruation, when the body prepares for a possible pregnancy. Progesterone is produced, peaks, and then drops.
