what is difference between gangue and minerals

Naturally occurring elements and compounds are called Minerals.

Minerals with high percentage of metal, that can be extracted profitably is known as Ore.

During extraction of ores some impurities like sand, soil are removed from ores. These impurities are called Gangue.
