HIV aka Human Immuno Virus is the virus responsible for causing AIDS in humans. A person is said to be HIV+ if it hosts the HIV virus and is HIV - when he doesn't posses this virus.

What's important to note is that a person may have HIV virus and still doesn't develop AIDS as HIV in itself is not that dangerous as AIDS is
