what is difference between hydrated and anhydrous

hydrated means containing the molecules of water... eg blue vitriol that is hydrated copper sulphate
anhydrous means dry or not containing water molecules
Eg.. anhydrous calcium chloride..

hydrated salts have water within their crystals when the crystals are formed.....whereas anhydrous salts is in which crystals has had the water driven out
