Answer:

If a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, water will leave the cell, and the cell will shrink. In an isotonic environment, the relative concentrations of solute and water are equal on both sides of the membrane. ... When a cell is placed in a hypotonic environment, water will enter the cell, and the cell will swell.

Answer:

hypertonic solution:

the liquid is more outside the cell than inside of the cell. the water will enter inside the cell(plasmolysis)

hypotonic solution :

the liquid is less outside competitive to the inside of the cell. so the water will exit the cell(cytolysis)

isotonic solutions :

the liquid inside and outside the cell is equal or balanced.
