IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is an 11 digit alpha-numeric number which is used for the identification of a particular bank especially its bank branch participating in the NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) system. On the other hand CIF (Customer Information File) is also an 11 digit number which contains the details and address proof of the customer and the banks use this number to decode the information about their customers.
