I think nationalism is basically loving your own country and expressing that love, like having all those Union Jacks at the Royal Wedding, dressing up for soccer games... last year when I visited St Paul's they were paying tribute to Lord Nelson, I think remembering 'national heroes' is also an important part of nationalism. Sometimes it goes a bit further like in Nazi Germany when most people thought Germany was in fact better than other countries.

Imperialism on the other hand, is when you try to expand your country by conquering others and bringing your own culture to those countries, something the Brits did a lot in the past centuries. Most of the time the imperialist exploits the natural resources of the conquered countries.
