municipal corporation tranlates into mahanagar palika. They govern metropolitian cities with population more than 1million. Their fuction is to provide necessary health care ,educational institution, housing amd transport. They collect property tax and fixed grant from state government. Mayor is the head of the corporation.

Municipatility translates into the Nagar Palika.They administer a city with population around 1 lakh or more .Generally small ditricrits or large towns have municipality.Its fuction is almost same as municipal corporation. Like.municipal corporation aslo gat their income fom tax levied of water,house,market,entertainment,

vehicles and grant from state government....

Municipal council are for towns between 25,000 and 100,000 in population .Nagar panchayat are for towns with populations between 11,000and 25,000 people
