Myopia refers to short sightedness when a person is not able to view nearby objects clearly whereas hypermetropia refers to long sightedness when a person is not able to view far off objects clearly.

myopia is short -sightedness:it is a defect of vision by which a person can see objects situated nearby and cannot see objects situated far away. the near-sighted eyes can be corrected with glasses or contacts lenses that use concave lenses .

hyper metropia long -sightedness:a farsighted (hypermetropic) person can usually see distant objects clearly, but cannot see objects situated nearby. the hypermetropic eye can be corrected by placing a convex lens of suitable focal length before the eye.
