Myopia (Short Sightedness) in Humans. Myopia is of course the opposite of hyperopia. Either as a result of having an elongated eyeball or a steep cornea, rays of light focus in front of the retina causing objects at distance to appear blurry.

hypermetropia: (long sightedness) a person suffering from this defect can see distant objects clearly but cannot see nearby objects clearly. In this defect , the near point lies farther away than 25 cm.
Myopia : (short sightedness) a person suffering from myopia can see the far away objects clearly.
Myopia : (short sightedness) a person suffering from myopia can see the far away objects clearly.
