What is difference between passive and active attacks in computer?

#Passive attack:
●It is not a direct attack, it can be insider's job.
●These attacks are monitoring or keeping eye on trasmitting data.
●The goal of the opponent is to obtain information that is being transmitted. Generally attacker doesn't perform any modification.
●Passive attacks are very difficult to detect or prevent,as they are not a direct attack.
●Passive attack can be an activity of a rejected employee or a person just fired because of some reason.
●Passive attack are in the nature of eavesdropping on,or monitoring of,transmissions. The attacker does not perform any modification to the data.
●Types of passive attacks:
○Release of massage content
○Traffic analysis

#Active attack:
●It is a kind of direct attack.
●Active attack modify the data or it creates a false streams.
●These attacks can't be prevented easily.
●Different active attack are below:
○Masquerade
○Modification of message
○Denial of service attack (DOS)
○Message replay
