PALMATELY COMPOUND LEAVES: the leaflets radiate from a single point at the distal end of the petiole. EG: japenese maple

PINNATELY COMPOUND LEAVES: a row of leaf lets form on either side of an extension of a petiole called rachis.EG: american elm
