Difference between Plant Cell and Animal Cell:- (8 differences)
Plant Cell:-
- Rigid/Flexible: Plant cells are comparatively rigid than the animal cells
- Cell Wall: Cell wall is present. Thus, plasmolysis is also observed.
- Vacuole: A big vacuole is observed. It consumes 50%-90% of cell volume.
- Plastids: Plastids are present.
- Energy Consumption: Less energy consumption. This is because plant tissues are modified for sedentary existence.
- Dead/Alive: Majority of the cells are dead.
- Nucleus Position: Nucleus is located in the corner due to presence of a huge vacuole.
- Simple.
Animal Cell:
- Rigid/Flexible: Animal cells are more flexible.
- Cell Wall: Cell was is not present. Thus, plasmolysis is also not observed.
- Vacuole: No vacuole are seen. Sometimes many small Vacuoles are observed.
- Plastids: Plastids are not present.
- Energy Consumption: High energy consumption. This is because animal tissues are modified for active locomotion.
- Dead/Alive: Majority of the cells are alive.
- Nucleus Position: Located at the middle.
- Complex.
