Protons are called positive charges. They are pure forms of charges.
Nuetrons are called negative charges. These are not pure. They together combined to form nuetral

Positive charges are deficit (lack) of electrons and are able to gain electrons whereas
Negative charges are surplus (extra) of electrons and so are able to lose them.
