theory is related to the written work.....giving written xams are said to be theory based...u just need to read n write not perform activities....
Bt in practicals u need to perform activities...it is known to study something while performing...the activities which we perform in skuls i.e. labs or at groundfields are said to be practicals...it do not refers to only writing or reading it refers to perform activities....

The following are the main differences between practical and theory :
1. Doing something exactly by experimenting it ourselves can be defined as doing it practically whereas giving something in a descriptive form can be defined as theory.
2. Practical things involve our experience whereas theory never involves having expereince of something.
