What is difference between precision and Accuracy?
Answers
Answer: Accuracy refers to how close a measurement is to the true or accepted value. Precision refers to how close measurements of the same item are to each other.
Accuracy is the degree of closeness to true value. For example, if in lab, you obtain a weight measurement of 3.2 kg for a given substance, but the actual weight is 10 kg, then your measurement is not accurate.
Precision is the degree to which an instrument or process will repeat the same value. Using the example above, if you weigh a given substance five times, and get 3.2 kg each time, then your measurement is very precise.
Precision is independent of accuracy. You can be very precise but inaccurate, as described above. You can also be accurate but imprecise sometimes.
Hope this helps :)
