Rainforest:
* It is located in the equator between 23.5deg.N latitude and 23.5 degrees S latitude.
* Most tropical rainforests receive 100 inches of rain per year and temp. remain between 67 to 77 degree F
* Because of the warm temp and moist air decomposition happens at a very fast rate in tropical rainforests. High levels of rainfall often lead to leaching of nutrients from the soil, creating soils that are nutrient poor.
* Trees in the tropical rainforests grow between 82 and 115 feet tall and are typically broad-leafed trees. and also includes orchids,palms.. and because of the canopy many animals live here.. (eg: monkeys,snakes)

Deciduous forest:
* Deciduous forest are found largely in India, North part of Australia and central part of America
* Trees shed their leaves in dry season
* Common trees in Deciduous forest are Hardwood trees like sal, teak, neem and shisham.
* Common Animals which live here are Tigers, lions, elephants, langoors and monkeys.
* Importance of Hardwood trees:
→ useful for making furniture, transport and constructional materials
