A scalar quantity are quantities that have magnitude but no direction while vector quantities have both magnitude and direction.

Explanation:

An examples of scalar quantities is mass. Mass has magnitude (i.e weight) but has no direction. Whereas Displacement is a vector quantity because it is the distance moved of an object in a given direction.

Therefore it has both magnitude and direction!
