Inductance :-
it is the property of the electric conductor by which the change in current produces an electromotive force .
self inductance :-
when the rate of change of current in any coil produce voltage or EMF in the same coil then that is called self inductance.
mutual inductance :-
when the rate of change of current produces the voltage or electromotive force (EMF) in the near nearby coil then that is called mutual inductance

In self inductance, the change in the strength of current in the coil is opposed by the coil itself by inducing an e.m.f. In mutual inductance out of the two coils one coil opposes change in the strength of the current flowing in the other coil.
