stock is a general term used to describe the ownership certificate of any company ,in general ,and shares refer the ownership certificate of a particular company . so ,if investor say they own stocks .they are generally referring to their overall ownership in one or more companies.

2.A share have a definite number known as distinctive number.
3.Shares can be partly or fully paid up.
Stock:
1.The conversion of the fully paid up shares of a member into a single fund is known as stock.
2.Stock can only be fully paid up. stock does not have such number.
3.Unequal amount domination.
