What is difference between sodium chloride and sodium sulphate

Sodium sulphate is the inorganic compound with formula Na2So4 as well as several related hydrates. All forms are white solids that are highly soluble in water. (Wikipedia). And sodium chloride is a salt which is prepared by the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. It is used for food salt.

When barium chloride is added to the sodium sulphate solution ,a precipitate is formed which is insoluble in all mineral acids. While sodium chloride does not react with barium chloride.
