Natural farming is popularly also called 'do nothing' approach. It allows nature to do it's job. But ‘do nothing' often leads to a misconception of abandonment or ignorance of the field which is obviously not desirable. It must be perceived as to avoid intervention with nature by conventional agricultural practices like tillage, residue removal, use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc. Instead rely on :

biological tillage by diversifying crops seasonally which have different rooting habits. This also helps in nutrient recycling.Crop residue retention in field after harvest. This adds organic matter to soil, improves physical, chemical and biological properties and also helps in carbon sequestration.Pest management achieved by natural enemies in the ecosystem.Weed management is achieved by residue retention which prevents weed emergence. According to Fukovuko's practice, seeds of white clover were broadcasted in the field which germinated and covered the soil surface. This did not allow other weeds from germinating and it's short life span helped in providing nutrition to the crops on its decay. This aims at achieving good soil and environmental quality.

On the other hand, organic farming is just an alternative farming approach where the crop requirements are met by inputs from natural (plant or animal) sources only, though some synthetic inputs are allowed to be used as per the national standards for organic production. However all natural substances are not allowed , eg. Arsenic, tobacco dust. This requires certification and licensing. It is mainly concerned about the quality of the final produce in terms of the residual concentration of synthetic chemicals in the food product. However, results show that the quality of produce from conventional agricultural practices is good as well due to degradation of synthetic inputs almost before harvest (except in some cases like commercial vegetables like cauliflower which is sprayed with insecticides to keep away diamond back moth and brinjal to keep away fruit borrer).

Hence, I would suggest going for conservation agriculture because this is based on minimum tillage, mulching(residue retention) and crop rotation with minimal use of synthetic inputs. This improves soil health and long term productivity of the ecosystem and at the same time meets to the ever increasing food demand by the population. This is the key to food and economics security and social equity. The full potential of conservation agriculture is yet to be reaped and can be achieved by collaborative research with farmers and good quality economic analysis. And also by efficient networking, policy making and encouragement of entrepreneurial activities in this field.

organic farming is a production system which completely avoids the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides and mainly depends on the natural resources.
sustainable farming deals with the minimal use of natural resources so hat the neeeds of present and future generation are fullfillled and organic farming is a way to achieve sustainale agriculture
