Difference between erythrocytes and leucocytes are :
- Erythrocytes are red in color due to presence of hemoglobin while leucocytes are colorless.
- The shape of erythrocytes are circular,biconcave and disc-shaped,while leucocytes are generally round in shape.
- The life span of erythrocytes is around 120 days while the life span of leucocytes is around 5-21 days.
- Erythrocytes functions only in cardiovascular system ,while leucocytes functions both in cardiovascular system as well as in lymphatic system.
- The low count of erythrocytes leads to ANEMIA , while the low count of leucocytes leads to LEUKOPENIA.
