Explanation:

Killed (inactivated) vaccines are made from a protein or other small pieces taken from a virus or bacteria. The whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine is an example. Toxoid vaccines contain a toxin or chemical made by the bacteria or virus.

Answer:

Toxoid is one of the forms of vaccine . Toxoid is formulated with adjuvants to form a toxoid vaccine . For example , Tetanus Toxoids are the inactivated forms of the toxins produced by the bacteria Clostridium tetani. These toxoids are capable of producing an immune response to the disease “Tetanus”. Toxins without inactivation will cause the disease. Hence they are inactivated to mimic the toxins. This generates an immune response upon injection and does not cause the disease.

Toxoid:Chemically modified toxin from a pathogenic organism, which is no longer toxic but it is still antigenic and can be used as vaccine to stimulate the formation of antitoxin.Vaccine:an antigenic substance prepared from the causative agent of a disease or a synthetic substitute, used to provide immunity against one or several diseases. In conclusion both can be used one with the other.
