what is difference between traditional telescope and modern telescope

The major difference is that:

1. Traditional telescopes had convex lens of more power and less focal length due to which more lenses were placed to obtain a clear image.

But modern telescopes have  less power and more focal length due to which only small number of lenses are placed. 

Hence these are the differences present.
