What is difference between trigonometric function and trigonometric ratios?

Trigonometric Ratios are sin, cos, tan and their reciprocals. Therefore, there are six trigonometric ratios in total. For example, sin is the ratio of perpendicular to hypotenuse. Trigonometric ratios are meaningful if they have some angle attached to them. Therefore, sin is not actually a trigonometric ratio rather sin 30 or sinx for any value of x is!

Trigonometric functions are just like any other mathematical function with a defined range and domain. For e.g. If I say y = sinx, then it is a function as it has a fixed domain of R and Range of [-1,1]
