what is difference between Valve and sphincter

A valve is a structure in a hollow organ (like the heart) with a flap to insure one-way flow of fluid through it whereas a sphincter is an opening of skin and surrounded by muscle that physically restricts and controls the passage of substances through the digestive tract.
