what is different b/w gene and DNA ?

gene is a part of a DNA..and gene always goes for transcription where only the codon part of dna which is actually a gene goes for transcription and translation

DNA suppose is a long thread made by tying many small ones

the small threads tied to form a long thread is suppose a gene

and all those small genes together form the long DNA
