Difference Between LCD and CRT. Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT) were once the only way to convey pictures. They are large, bulky and consume a lot of power. Liquid Crystal Displays or more commonly known as LCDs are beginning to replace CRTsin most applications today.

CRT stands for Cathode Ray Tube. It is much larges than LED and LCD monitors. The resolution is very low.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. It is much slimmer than CRT and has a very high resolution.
