Have to is used to express certainty, necessity, and obligation.
eg:- I have to study because tomorrow is my exam.
Had to is used to talk about necessity and obligation that existed in the past.
eg:- We had to carry our own luggage.
Must is used to express obligation, give orders and give advice. It can only be used for present and future reference. When the past is involved, you use have to.
Hope it helps.
