Holozoic nutrition is defined as taking in of solid or liquid organic food with the help of mouth and digestion takes place inside the body. Since it is a characteristics of animals it is known as holozoic nutrition.

Holophytic nutrition is also known as autotrophic nutrition. This is a characteristic of plants which make their own food using carbon-dioxide and water in presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.
