Explanation:

Muncipal corporation translates into Mahanagar Palika. They govern metropolitan cities with population more than 1 million. Their function is to provide necessary health care, education institution, housing and transport. They collect property tax and fixed grant from state government.

Municipality translates into Nagar Palika. They administer a city with population around 1 lakh or more. Generally small districts or large towns have municipality. Its functions are almost same as Municipal corporations. Like Municipal corporation, municipalities also get their income from tax levied on water, house, market, entertainment, vehicle and grants from state government.
