In Myopia, the person can see nearby objects, but cannot see far objects clearly. In Hypermetropia, the person can see far objects clearly, but cannot see near objects clearly. In people with myopia, the image is formed in front of retina in the eye. ... Hypermetropia is corrected using the Double-Convex lens.

In myopia a person cannot see the far objects but can see the nearer objects. In this effect image is formed before the retina ,so to correct this concave lens is used.

In Hypermetropia a person cannot see the nearer objects but can see the far objects clearly.In this effect image is formed after the retina, so to correct this defect convex lense is used.
