DIFFERENTIATION :- It is a process of finding a function that outputs the rate of change of one variable with respect to another variable.

EXAMPLE :- it allows us to find the rate of change of velocity with respect to time (which is acceleration). It also allows us to find the rate of change of x with respect to y, which on a graph of y against x is the gradient of the curve.

GENERAL RULES :-

The derivative of a constant is equal to zero.

 \frac{d}{dx}(k) = 0

The derivative of a constant multiplied by a function is equal to the constant multiplied by the derivative of the function.

 \frac{d}{dx} (k \: .f \: (x) \: ) = k \ \frac{d}{dx} ( \: if \: f(x) \: )

The derivative of a sum is equal to the sum of the derivatives.

 \frac{d}{dx} ( \: f(x) - g(x) \: ) = \frac{d}{dx} (f(x) \: ) + \frac{d}{dx} (g(x) \: )
