The main difference between primates and non-primates in reproduction is that menstrual cycle occurs in primates where as oestrous cycle occurs in non-primates.

  • Menstrual cycle- It is cyclic change in the reproductive tract of primate females. It repeatedly occurs almost every month.
  • Oestrous cycle - It is homologous to menstrual cycle in non-primates.It occur only during breeding season .
