What is diffraction? Give one major different between diffraction and interference(1+1).

Bending and spreading of the light at the edges of the object and moving towards it's geometrical shadow is defined as diffraction. Condition for diffraction is that the wavelength of the lightray must match with the size of the object
In case of interference the intensity pattern is same and the colour also remains the same
But in diffraction intensity pattern and the colour is maximum at the central and it's intensity and colour decreases at the sides
