Some differences between jute and cotton are as follows- · Jute is grown in sandy and clayey loams &also alluvial soil found near flood plains &deltas of river Cotton grown in sandy soil needs a soil pH of 5.5. Lighter sandy soil is best for cotton production. · Cotton is obtained from the fruit of the cotton plant while jute is obtained from the stem of the jute plant. · Also there is a difference in the tensile strength of jute and cotton.Jute fibres are stronger than cotton fibres.
