cuumutator are in 2 pieces but slip ring is joint
cuumutators are used in DC motor /generators and slip rings are used in AC motor/generators

A Commutator or a Split Ring works like a tranporter. It transfers electric current to the wire or conductor with the help of carbon bushes! ( In Motors)

A Slip Ring function is to reserve electric current after every one and a half revolution when the generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy!
