Diffusion is simply the process of a molecules or atoms moving from a region of it's higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. It mainly involve the net movement of air and liquids.

Explanation:

For example, when there is more oxygen outside a cell, the oxygen will enter the cell (where the concentration was less) through the process of diffusion. The exact same process takes place for water molecules but it is known as Osmosis.
