Diffusion is the spontaneous movement of a substance from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration.
We can take the example of a perfume or an incense stick or a drop of ink in a water etc.
Solids do not diffuse.
Water diffuse slowly.
Gas diffuse rapidly.

Diffusion is the movement of particles from higher concentration to a lower concentration medium. Examples of diffusion include : when you spray a deodorant - the particles of scent move rapidly & spread over a large area in less time. Diffusion is fastest in case if gases & is maximum for lighter gases than the denser gases.
MORE TO KNOW:- when compared at the same temperature & pressure, the rates of diffusion of any two gases are inversely proportional to the square roots of their densities. This is Grahm's law of diffusion.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask in case of a query! :-D
