The movement of materials from an high pressure area to a low pressure area is known as diffusion. Diffusion can occur in gases and liquids. In liquids, if it happens through a semi-permeable membrane, it is called osmosis.

Example, If there is CO2 filled in a room, and if you open that room, the air from outside and CO2 will diffuse with each other.

Diffusion : Movement of a fluid from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
Example - The smell of the food from the kitchen immediately reaches the other parts of the home through diffusion.
