Indirect speech is a report on what someone else said or wrote without using that person's exact words. Also called indirect discourse. Unlike direct speech, indirect speech is not usually placed inside quotation marks.

direct speech- when the exact or actual words of the speaker are reproduced iypt is called direct speech


indirect speech- when an another person who is not the speaker is reporting in his/her own words what the speaker said so this sentence is called I direct speech
