direct speech -when we report the exact word of the speaker within inverted commas it is said to be direct speech
ex-neha said "khushi has won the match ".

indirect speech -in indirect speech we do not report the exact word of speakerbut convey the substance or meaning of a person's speech.
ex- gargi said that she enjoyed watching the movie dherak.

Direct speech :- When the statement of speaker is said without any changes and reported exact words then the speech is called direct speech .
ex :- Ram says "I am your friend and you are my friend"

Indirect speech :- When the statement of a speaker is said with some changes and when you report someone else's statement in your own words without any change in the meaning of the statement then the speech is called indirect speech
ex:- Ram says that he is my friend and I am his friend.
