The inability of a body to change its direction of motion is directional inertia. As we know, change in direction not only means turning left or right. It includes forward and backward direction too. Consider a vehicle moving in straight line towards north. So it is directional inertia.

example:
One's body movement to the side when a car makes a sharp turn.

Tightening of seat belts in a car when it stops quickly.

A ball rolling down a hill will continue to roll unless friction or another force stops it.
