Dispersion of light:

\bullet The phenomenon of splitting up of white light into its constituent colours is known as dispersion.

For example:

\bullet When light passes through one face of a prism it gets deviated.

Note: This deviation is different for different wavelengths of light.

=> Dispersion is common phenomenon..which can be seen in our nature

=> Rainbow is the example of Dispersion of light.

=> The light with least wavelength is dispersed more and the light with higher wavelength is dispersed less.
