displacement reaction generally occurs in metals and sometimes in nonmetals like hydrogen.
it happens when two compounds or one compound and one element react.
if the metal in the first compound has higher reactivity then, the radicals will displace each other.
it is in chemistry btw...
for example:
Fe + CuSO4 = FeSO4 + CU
